PREMIUM CRICKET BATS
Built for Performance. Selected on Ping.
Performance Edition bats are for cricketers who care about how a bat performs, not how it looks on a shelf.
Made from premium Grade 2 English willow, these bats are built using a rigorous selection process with one clear focus: ping performance. Grain count and wood blemishes don’t determine how a bat plays. We do things differently.
Why Choose a Performance Edition English Willow Bat?
The traditional grading system focuses on grain count, visual appearance, and colour. We don’t — because none of that guarantees performance.
At SGM Cricket, performance comes from the pressing, the handle construction, the density and quality of the willow, and the shape, profile, and balance. Not how clean the face looks.
Performance Edition bats may feature fewer grains, minor stains or colour variation, or slight visual imperfections in the willow. What they don’t lack is performance. These bats are pressed the same, shaped the same, and built to the same standard. You get a high-performing bat, without paying for a perfect-looking piece of wood.

I’ve had my bat from SGM Cricket Bats for just over 2 years now, and it has been an absolute pleasure to use. I love the profile of the bat, especially the large edges that run seamlessly down to the toe. Overall the bat has a generous sweet spot and the aggressive profile provides the power needed for playing my shots yet the pick-up feels incredibly well-balanced, making it one of my favourite bats to use at the crease. Gerard, the owner, not only crafts high-quality bats but also provides excellent services like bat refurbishments and re-handling, which I’ve found super convenient. I would highly recommend SGM Cricket Bats to anyone looking for quality and great service!
